Hai is the yang-water branch (hidden Ren, Jia), the 10th month, 9–11 pm — water gestating wood, the branch of return and rest.
Hai holds Ren at its peak and Jia's birth — water feeding wood: tolerance plus vitality. Friction: the Si–Hai clash and Shen–Hai harm; channels: Yin–Hai harmony and the Hai–Mao–Wei frame. Hai seems uncompetitive — it's simply running a marathon.
